MD, Re-Engraved Letters & Reverse Design Modifications
1907 Newfoundland One Cent · Edward VII
The second example of these Medium Date variances is undoubtedly the most interesting to be found so far. In this instance, some of the Letters display signs of Re-engraving, with the “N”, & E” in “NEWFOUNDLAND”, being the most notable. However, the most important feature about this variety is that the Oak Leaves, Stems & Acorn found at the Bottom, Left side of the Wreath, have been extensively Modified. This certainly defines this variety, which it appears to be very scarce and it will be a real challenge to find one in any condition!
