1941 Newfoundland One Cent
George VI · 9 varieties · study revised Apr. 21st 2018
The 1941 Small Cent issue is perhaps one of the most underrated dates in this series. There are 9 different varieties listed in this section and collectively, they form a significant group of variations! Basically, they are divided into Narrow and Wide Dates but the vast majority of these variances are Narrow Dates with only one Wide Date variety currently known to exist! In addition, there are several varieties which illustrate both Re-punching of the Numerals and Re-engraving of the Letters but also, the location of the Mint Mark "C", figures prominently with the identification of a specific variety.

Another very important property of these varieties, lies with the size of the gap between the "4" and "1" in the date. These spacing differences can be grouped into Narrow, Medium and Wide categories which can be very helpful with the recognition of a particular variety!
