1899 Newfoundland 50 Cents
Victoria · 2 varieties · study revised Oct. 23rd 2013
This year has two notable varieties which can be easily identified by observing the stylistically different types of "9's" used in their respective dates! The first of these has a Narrow Date, with Narrow "9's", which are defined by their Thick sides and Long, Slender Openings! The second variety has a slightly Wider Date and is characterized by its more elegant-looking "9's", with their Wide, Open Spaces!
