Currently, there are four known and very interesting varieties, which can be found with either Wide or Narrow Dates. In addition, the numerals which make up these dates, are stylistically different, and a combination of both large and small digits have been randomly used in this process. Because of this feature, the identification of these variations is fairly easy to establish. With most of these varieties, it can be observed that the last digit has been Repunched, however, with the Narrow Date variation, this effect is quite noticeable. In this particular instance, this characteristic can be considered as a defining feature of the this specific variety. Some traces of this doubling effect can also be seen on the Wide Date varieties, but these results are not as obvious! The Narrow Date is particularly interesting because its "8's" have been positioned in a straight, even line, very close to each other. This contrasts considerably to the Large "8" varieties where the date appears to be a little less even and the digits are spaced slightly farther apart.
