Wide, Even Date, Re-punched "41"
1941 Newfoundland 10 Cents · George VI
The Wide Date varieties are, generally, a little scarcer to find than the Narrow Date coins but they are still relatively easy to locate in higher grades (at some coin shops and local coin shows). The main feature which distinguishes these varieties from the Narrow Dates, is the location of the "1", which has been punched closer to the rear of the Decorative Loop and into the open space behind it. With this particular variety, all of the digits in the date, have been punched evenly and about the same distance apart. Also, the "41" displays some very minute traces of Re-punching.
