Coin #2 in Barry's study

The second Narrow Date variety also can be identified by checking the "2" (in the "20"), but this time it can be seen that the Re-engraving of this number is even more extensive than it is with the previous example. In this particular instance, remnants from the Original Digit are still clearly visible inside the upper curved section of this numeral and also, they can be seen at the end of its tail. In many ways, these two varieties appear to be very similar but with this specific variation, the Letter "S" (in "CENTS"), has been extensively altered, leaving much on the original character clearly exposed on the inside curves of this letter. This in itself is a defining feature which clearly identifies this Narrow Date variance.
