Wide Date, Low "0". Re-Engraved "S"
1900 Newfoundland 20 Cents · Victoria
The last of these varieties is a Wide Date and it is perhaps the most interesting. Not only is it very rare but also it has a Re-engraved "S" (in the word "CENTS"), which is unique to this group! In addition, the two zeros slope downward with the last of these positioned considerably Lower than the first two digits in the Date! Like the first Wide Date variety, the "1" and "9" have been spaced farther apart, leaving it with a fairly Wide Gap. This contrasts to the Narrow Gaps with can be seen between these same two digits on both the "Split" and "Narrow" Date variations.
