Medium Date, Even "76", Re-punched "7", Re-Eng. “E” & “F” Right "H"
1876 H Newfoundland One Cent · Victoria
Most of the Medium Date variations have different size Gaps between the final three digits in the Date, however, in this case, they are spaced almost evenly. This in itself is not enough to make a positive identification of this particular variety, but the process is made easier after examining the “7” which has been Re-punched, with the remnants from the Original Numeral, clearly visible at the bottom, and along the Left, Interior Edge of this digit. Also, the Letters “E” & “F” (in “NEWF”) have been noticeably Re-engraved, which will help to make this variety more identifiable. Once again, the Mint Mark "H" has been punched to the Right, just over the Left Edge of the "N", where only a tiny portion of it has been covered by the serifs of the "H".
