"Wide Date"
1894 Newfoundland 10 Cents · Victoria
The "Wide Date" is the first and more common of these two varieties, which can be recognized by observing the very Narrow Gap between the "4" and the Ring of Beads. In this case, the "4" almost touches this Ornamental Ring, whereas with the "Narrow Date", there is a little more space separating the "4" from the Beads.
