Low "4", Low "C" (Die Break)
1946 Newfoundland 10 Cents · George VI
The first of these two varieties is more commonly found than those of its only known relative. In many instances, it can be easily identified by a very noticeable Die Break which can be seen between the Letters "O" and "U", in the word "NEWFOUNDLAND". As stated in the introduction, not every example of this variety has this Characteristic, but it does appear to be present on most of these coins. In addition, the Numeral "4" and the Mint Mark "C", are both slightly Lower than those of its companion. Also, the "4" displays some minor evidence of having been Modified.
